Frequently asked questions
How do I activate my license?
Open DuckCast, go to the License screen, and paste the key from your purchase email. One license activates on one Mac. If the key doesn't arrive within a few minutes, check your spam folder.
How many Macs can I use one license on?
One. Each license activates the full app on a single Mac. If you get a new machine, you can deactivate the old one and re-activate on the new one.
What does the free tier include?
Every feature — all file types and data sources, the SQL editor, grid, charts, and AI chat, plus export to CSV, JSON, Parquet, and Excel. The free tier is limited to one workspace window with up to 3 tabs; a license removes those limits.
Does my data leave my Mac?
No. Your databases, files, queries, and results are processed entirely on your computer. The only exception is the AI chat: when you send a message, your prompt and any context you include are sent to your configured AI provider. See the Privacy Statement for details.
Which macOS versions and chips are supported?
DuckCast requires macOS 14 (Sonoma) or later, with separate notarized builds for Apple Silicon and Intel. Not sure which you have? Apple menu ▸ About This Mac shows your chip.
How do updates work?
DuckCast updates itself through Sparkle from updates.duckcast.app. Licensed users get updates for free. You can see what's changed on the Changelog page.
How do I get a refund?
We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee. Email us from your purchase address within 14 days and we'll refund you in full through Paddle. See the Refund Policy.
